sconce by Matt Moseman

simple painting on the wall
fall
oh how I wish that shattering
of pane betwixt us,
that crackery of glass and
splash
a fragmentation of frame
to free us
from this haphazard solitude together
I want to feel your brushstrokes on my face
I want your signature to tickle my nipples.

Haphazard? Thinking on that. Didn't like betwixt at first, but then I did, and do.

yeh, still can't cope with betwixt. heightened language is all very well and good, but deliberate archaism? the rest of it is great, but brian has his put finger on the other lexical conundrum too.... why haphazard?
