Apart (formerly "Business Class") by A.E. Plastic

The misfortunes of voyagers:

we know all about those,

don’t we?

Bushwhackers, troglodytes,

cut-purses and cozeners,

all lie in wait.

But don’t expect our Penelope

to kick her heels at home;

there’s visits

to the sleek-haired dentist,

the school run,

bridge classes for the neophyte,

hazy village fetes

and her tricked out

in a veil of aloofness

edged with misgiving.

I can't remember what's changed (other than the title) but think I enjoy it more now than I did before. I bet that's a big help.

Something in the grammar is catching my ear from

and her tricked out

The name Penelope is inspired, especially alongside "voyager", which by the way, reminds me of the film "Now Voyager", if you're familiar, and for that reason I think I prefer the original title.

Bet that helps loads too.

Yup, 'tricked out' sounds like there's a noun coming.

Bourgeois bashing at its best.
