FAQ > Posting Dialog Box > What is the significance of the "published" checkbox?

Search the FAQ for entries containing:

If the "published" box is checked, a post will be viewable by the public, if the post is made in an area of the site which is viewable by the public in the first place.  If the “published” box is unchecked, the post will be treated as a “Draft”, and will not be visible to the public, even if it is in an area of the site which is viewable by the public.  It will be viewable to logged in members only, and the word, “Draft” will appear in the title of the post.  This applies to original posts, as well as follow-up posts.

“Published” posts cannot be organised/moved between journals, other than by an AL editor.  If a member wishes to move a post, for example, from Critique to Portfolio, the post must first be “unpublished” into a “draft”, then the draft post can be “organised” (moved), and then republished.
