FAQ > Formatting > How do I make an Emdash?
Search the FAQ for entries containing:
type in/paste in your poem with the editor dialog in "wysiwyg" mode, save
if your emdashes (option-hyphen on Mac) have been lost
change the editor dialog to "raw html" mode (drop down menu at right)
you might get a warning.
look for your punctuation which should appear as this "& ndash ; " all squished together
change "ndash" to "mdash"
save
your dashes should now be em dashes
switch editor mode back to wysiwyg (This triggers a warning that some formatting might be lost as it was saved in another mode etc., but the testing I was able to so far do showed no loss of formatting.)
